So there you have it; three tragic stories, two ending in death, all three of an exitential mode. What does it all mean? Is one's life guided by some supernatural force? Or is it the individual's Karma which is the driving force of our actions? According to karma theory every action has a consequence which will come to fruition in either this or a future life; thus morally good acts will have positive consequences, whereas bad acts will produce negative results.

About the Author

Albert Shansky is an adjunct professor of philosophy and religion at Norwalk Community College in Norwalk, Ct.He teaches Introduction to Philosophy, World Religions, Philosophy of Buddhism, Non-Western Philosophy and Philosophy of Islam. He has written five books on Buddhism and presented twelve papers on Buddhism at various professional societies. He is a member of the American Philosophical Association, The American Academy of Religion, The Association of Asian Studies and is a fellow of the American Association for the Advancemant of Science. His interests include the pursuit of peace through interfaith study.
