Chapter seven Rocky finally gave up after chasing Skeeter around the cage for a long time. Who knew that Skeeter could move so fast? Fear had a way of doing that though. Skeeter panted breathlessly and sat trying to collect himself as Rocky glared at him. "Hold up Rock. We ain't gettin' nowhere like this. We gots to get out of the slammer. We can't do that if you's figurin' on chasing me the whole time." Skeeter explained as he held one shaky paw to ward off his angry friend. "Look Skeet" Rocky said through gritted teeth. "YOU. HAD. BETTER. GET. ME. OUT. OF. HERE!" He panted out one breathy word at a time. "I will, I will." Skeeter said uncertain how he could always sound so sure of himself even in the dimmest of situations. " I gotta plan." Skeeter said with a contented look on his face. "Oh no you don't!" Rocky shook his head and stared at Skeeter with warning. "I"M THROUGH LISTENING TO YOU. You alsways land me in crappy situations. And just for the record, this is much worse than salt in the fur." Skeeter nodded his agreement. "Ok so what you got planned?" Skeeter asked Rocky considering the fact that he may not be the best at planning things after all. "To get as far from you as possible. I'm serious Skeeter. You stay away from me. When I get us outa here you's are leavin' me alone. No more wacky plans. You read me? We's finito!!" Skeeter dropped his head and nodded. Whatcha doin'?" Skeeter asked Rocky with one arched brow. "I'm busting out." Rocky announced as he thoughtfully eyed the door of the cage. "How you plan to do that?" "I'm not real sure but I'm not sittin' here anymore." "Ok, so what we doin'?" "I told ya I'm bustin' out." "How?" "See this metal thingy?" "Yeah." "Well this is the only thing that stands between us and freedom." "Oh." "So the way I sees it, we gotta get it off the door and walla, we home free." Rocky said. Then he dusted his hands as if to say it is all in a days work. Skeeter was still looking at Rocky as if he was two sandwiches shy of a picnic. "So you want to explain just how you plan to get the metal thing off Houdini?" Skeeter asked with an aggravated glare in his eyes. "Yeah, well I am still figurin' that out." Rocky said then turned to look at the metal twisty tie that held him prisoner. Skeeter marched over to the door of the cage and snatched the twist tie up. "I can't believe this is all that stands between us and freedom." Rocky stood staring at his ignorant friend with his mouth hung open in disbelief. Finally the light dawned on Skeeter's fat, frizzy head and then he tried to play it off as if he knew it all the time. Pulling up the cage door he pawed the cell floor with one hind paw and arched his brow. "Well, we're outta here." Rocky laughed at his friend's attempt to conceal his stupidity. Then the two of them ran through the door and dropped to the floor.

About the Book
After Skeeter convinces Rocky to gain the affections of a young girl in a park things go awry. Rocky is loaded into the family station wagon and taken to their home where he lands in a cage that he thinks is jail.. In a jail break gone wrong Skeeter finds himself sharing a cell with his angry friend. Finally the two manage to break out only to be chased by the family's dog that is looking for an afternoon snack. The two streetwise friends jump from tree top to tree top avoiding the sharp teeth of the hungry pet by mear misses.
About the Author
Kristy Morgan was born in Columbus Georgia in 1974 at Columbus Medical Center. She would later move to Beulah, Alabama where she now resides with her husband. Between Kristy and her husband James there are 4 kids... Jesse is 19, Rusty is 18, Jessica is 17, and Becca is the youngest at 15. Kristy recieved a degree in the Emergency medical field in 2000 after serving as a volunteer fire fighter for Lanett Fire and EMS for 2 years. In 2006 she started school at Southern Union Community College and finished her prerequisites for her nursing degree.. She now works at Mobis in Georgia until she is able to return to College to complete her nursing degree. Kristy has been writing since 7th grade when she was turned on to the literary arts by a very tenacious English Literature teacher. In 2007 she began to write seriously when she was blessed with a job as a receptionist that only last 6 months at which time she was layed off. But she is very thankful for the experience because it gave her the time she needed to persue the things that were closest to her heart... God, family, friends, and the written word..
