About the Book
This book depicts the life of a young woman growing up in a rural coal mining community on Paint Creek in southwestern West Virginia in the late 1930s during segregation.
The story shares the joys, pains, and triumphs experienced from childhood through adulthood. It also reveals the lives of the neighbors in the surrounding communities, their struggles and victories as well as those of strangers encountered along the way.
It shares the lessons learned through the author's own experiences and the lessons learned through the experiences of others. It shows us the power of a loving family and faith in a loving God that lets us know that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. (Philippians 4:13)
About the Author
Eula Collier is retired and living in Canton, OH. She grew up in West Virginia, and attended Bluefield State Teachers College. She later worked at Eastern Cloveridge in Canton.
She is the author of The Three "P's" Perseverance, Prison, and Pastor. Eula is the mother of eight children.
