From the Introduction: Computer programming languages are used to tell computers what to do. Computer programming languages have special symbols and special words that are used to make statements. The special words are called keywords. In this book, you will learn about the computer pro-gramming language called C. After you have read this book, you should know something about each of the keywords in C. From Lesson 2: The first line of Program 1... is an example of a preprocessing directive. It tells the compiler to include some other stuff in our program. What part of stdio.h did we use? (Hint: How was Program 1 different from Program 0?) A compiler is a computer program that translates a computer programming language such as C into a language that the computer understands.
