QUEEN OF THE NILE Queen of the Nile You know I love your style But the river’s been awfully hard on you this year Well, try not to drown, because you know that you are going down Just try to avoid the rapids if you can You need to try to mend The answer is not in the end Because you don’t want to wind up six feet beneath the ground Going down, down, down, down, down The boat has run aground No way out No way out No way out There is no doubt There’s no way out It’s getting hard to witness such a route There just is no way out If you want to play it rough I guess I’ll have to show my bluff Just act like you have once been here before So, where the hell are you now? About the Book

The poems can only be described as a psychedelic stew of various addictions meets whining divorcee, meets mental health, meets mid-life crisis, meets renewed youth, meets reality check, meets recovery. Quite simply, it’s a compendium of everyday problems for everyday people with a couple of solutions thrown in for good measure.
In 2006, while contemplating divorce from his wife of thirteen years, author Fred Schrott left his home to travel around the southwest and Northern California in his Coachmen trailer. He was urged to start journaling by his marriage counselor but normal writing seemed a bit boring, so the author decided to purge his brain in poetic form. His goal right from the beginning for The Transitive Nightfall of Diamonds was to communicate with anyone and everyone through observation and humor.

Seventeen long years ago
everything was all the same,
but then the crazy traveling
sent me to the zoo again...
About the Author
Fred Schrott, former surveillance investigator and currently a first-time entrepreneur, has a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Sonoma State University where he also played baseball. He has recently completed his first screenplay entitled, “Working Class Hero.” He presently resides in Northridge, California and his two children live near Austin, Texas with his ex-wife.
