the intricate myth of autumn,
perhaps lost, perhaps caught
in one lean and splintered day;
gentle room
it was early in the evening,
and our words moved like leaves
leveled by the blue rain;
d.c. space
the neon moon salutes the space
that groans,
ballooning
essential crowds that beg
to put the flute on, babe
and maybe, just maybe someone
will hear this evening
as it slouches in blue haze;
