The Power of Love

We had built a memorial garden for Elizabeth on the farm. This horseshoe-shaped garden is surrounded by trees (fairy trees) and has a pea gravel path leading to a meditation bench in the centre. Since Elizabeth is a dancer, and since we have always liked fairies, I have a plaque in the garden that says: Quiet, Fairy Ballet in Progress. One afternoon, I was on our deck overlooking the garden and decided to send a mental message out to Elizabeth. I knew she could hear my thoughts, so I visualised a large heart-shaped balloon in my hand; then, I let it go sailing off the deck into the sky above and thought: For you Elizabeth; I love you. I enjoyed sending her this message and hoped that she had heard me and received the balloon.

The next morning, I received a movie of the garden. The coloured visions were a mixture of pictures captured from real life to drawn imagery. Pictures of different things in the garden moved across my visual field and seemed to be taking me on a tour of the garden. Gold finches were at the feeder. Pink glowing flowers with tutus that looked like fairies danced in unison in front of me; they were adorable and happy, an acknowledgement of the plaque. Up in the left hand corner were tiny red hearts bleeding which is where the bleeding heart flowers are. I was then taken to real pictures of pink lilies that were in bloom. Filled with amazement and joy, I watched the scenery playing out before me.

My eye was drawn to the bottom left corner and I saw a tiny door open. I waited to see what would happen next: a red, heart-shaped balloon came through the door and popped up into my view and floated up. This was the balloon I had sent Elizabeth the day before. She was returning it to me. How amazing is that? As I write this, I can feel her touch my right cheek and I have tears welling up in my eyes. These visions are timeless; they are not bound by earthly parameters; they hold all the emotion and power of love as I recall them, even years later. What love can do is truly miraculous!
