About the Book
Addiction is a disease. It is a cancer that grows like a tumor within our loved ones: a tumor that cannot be removed. Addiction has no cure—but addiction, like many other diseases, can be treated successfully. And like many other diseases, if left untreated, it can be fatal.
In Parallel Worlds, author Kathleen Arch narrates frank revelations and observations of her experiences living with her son’s addiction. Offering personal insight into the world of addiction and how it affects families and loved ones, Arch discusses how she has tried to help her son and how she deals with her personal pain. In addition, Arch includes stories from other families, which depict their loss, their pain, and their struggles and hopes.
The stronger the pull, the stranger the world, the deeper the abyss —Arch
