“Tell me more about what you saw Don,” Nick requested.
Donnie was happy to tell his story again. “I was just walking by across the street and looked at the house because, you always have to look if you are near this house, it’s so scary. When I looked up I saw a creepy white light in that attic window.” He pointed at a window that was below the cupola above the house. “Even though it was morning there were a lot of clouds making it dark enough to see the light.
Nick looked up at the square cupola that was above the roof. It was scary all by itself as it had a Wrought iron rail with some pointy spikes running around it.
“I came across the street to see better when I saw eyes and a mouth!” Donnie said excitedly. “I ran home real fast!”
“You were scared!” nick said.
“No I wasn’t,” denied Donnie. “I wanted everyone to come see it. I wrote the notes and dropped them at every bodies’ houses so we could meet.”
Nick thought Donnie’s story was consistent enough with what he told the Society back at Headquarters except he didn’t mention running away before. His interest was recharged and said, “come on let’s get a little closer.”
They started walking again. This time they moved closer to the house until they were only about 50 feet away.
About halfway down the right side, Donnie gasped, “There!” he pointed toward one of the attic windows. Nick quickly looked up startled.
As his head went up, his foot went down and he heard a crack. He stepped on something wooden which gave away and he fell into darkness.

About the Book
IN THE SMALL TOWN OF SUNDOWN, there are hidden secrets waiting to be found. In their previous adventures the kids from Sundown discovered the little people in the mountain and answered the question “Are we alone in the Universe?”
As their lives went back to normal, the kids created the Sundown Adventure Society. After looking for new adventures but finding none, the kids were ready to give up.
That’s when a strange new mystery presented itself and some of the kids began to investigate. The adventure divided them. Will their fears reunite them to solve a puzzle?
About the Author
James A Johnson an Air Force Veteran wrote the first book in the Sundown Stories series for his three, now grown kids when they were young. Jim lives with his wife Deb in Binghamton, NY. Recently retired, Jim can devote more time to writing and creating new adventures for the kids from the town of Sundown.
