Is history about to repeat itself when John Weller-Raven and his fiancée, Louise, visit Ricky Stevens’ parents to give them his belongings and a photograph of Unit Invincible? What seems such a simple task develops into a private war leading into something far greater?
When an obnoxious police sheriff meets John Weller-Raven for the first time, he instantly takes a dislike to him, partly because of his attitude towards him. However, after deciding to keep hold of his knife, and just give a caution, Weller-Raven was told to continue travelling.
Things started to escalate as they both travelled in different directions. The police were later told about how Weller-Raven assaulted Mick Fisher by the group of teenagers, but refused to say why. Joanne Stevens wanted to protect John, as she took notice of Sheriff Gaskell pulling the boy towards him to take a closer look at the blood weeping from his neck. Leroy Hughes came forward wanting to tell the police; he had recorded everything on his phone, which Sheriff Gaskell decided to keep as evidence.
After having a disagreement about the teenager, John and Louise agreed to take a break and have something to eat. What should have been a quiet meal, turned into something more sinister when Paul Allen and his cousin, Roderick Hughes, entered the restaurant? After taunting the landlady, who decided to give in to Allen’s demands, Weller-Raven asked Louise to leave, while he went to help the landlady resolve what was becoming a hostile atmosphere.
When Allen saw Mick Fisher being assaulted from the person standing in front of him, things went from bad to worse. A heated debate developed, when punches were thrown and Louise was taken by some of the gang waiting outside. It ended with Allen and his men setting fire to the restaurant, and willing to leave the landlady, Catherine Burton, his ex-lover and Weller-Raven to burn.
Sheriff Gaskell was already travelling to where Weller-Raven had stopped to eat. With wanting to arrest him for a serious assault, he was now accused of causing arson to a respectable business. Becoming a man on the run, Catherine decided to help after watching her business burn to the ground.
Sheriff Gaskell heard people telling him it wasn’t John’s fault and refused to listen to any other opinion put to him. Becoming frustrated with the crowd, he displayed the phone showing the Green Beret performing a terrible action. Some people were surprised, and others told the sheriff he must have a good reason to behave in such a way. Refusing to accept their thoughts, he spoke to the media, and then Colonel Wareing, when a heated discussion occurred and ended with the Colonel wanting to visit Sheriff Gaskell’s hometown.
Captain Weller had re-joined the military and decided to accompany Colonel Wareing on his journey to meet Sheriff Gaskell, to find out how this conflict occurred. Thinking about when the Sheriff told him Weller-Raven would go to jail, made him start to think and wonder if history was now repeating itself.
When the military personnel were introduced to Sheriff Gaskell, they soon came to the conclusion about being in the company of a ‘king shit cop’ who wasn’t interested in listening to other people’s opinions. For him, only one thing mattered, which was for John Weller-Raven to be put behind bars.
At this point, Weller-Raven could only think about the safety of his fiancée, Louise, unsure about what will happen to her. Allen and Hughes did know and arranged for her to be transferred and then sold by General Kalu, who is the head of the African military. Violence, carnage, and destruction didn’t matter; it was only Louise, who concerned him now.
While still trying to escape from the police, Weller-Raven became involved in many ordeals. From a game of chicken with Allen, when both men containing huge egos was driving towards each other at a fast speed causing danger to others. To saving Officer Carroll’s life when a train pulling fuel tankers was about to crash into their 4x4 after it became stranded on a railway line. Saving Officer Carroll’s life didn’t matter to Sheriff Gaskell, because it was now when Weller-Raven became immobilised, he could finally arrest him by taking him back to the police station.
The media soon learned about how this high profile Green Beret had become involved in a private war, when people couldn’t accept what they were seeing on the television. President Berry couldn’t accept the reports and made the decision to help a member of the family who always seemed to be there in her hour of need by imposing a sanction for his release.
When Sheriff Gaskell hears the news about President Berry travelling to his hometown to sanction the immediate release of Weller-Raven, he becomes displeased and arranges a meeting with people who are opposite the law. Drastic plans are discussed and finally agreed to by all parties concerned to kidnap and take her to Africa to suffer more turmoil.
Unknown to President Berry, Weller-Raven had already escaped to carry on in his mission by helping his fiancée, Louise, who was now in extreme danger. The mission has just become twice as big and much more dangerous.
When the President of The United States is held captive by the terrorist group known as Hermes, which is taking a tight hold of the world, with the help of Farzam Malhotra, Unit Expendable has no choice, but to become involved.
When a surprise elite Green Beret, who was a good friend to the late John Raven joins Unit Expendable with just one purpose; to track, seek, and kill and Weller-Raven is on the rampage while recalling his late father’s words, “Live for nothing or die for something.” Although lost blood is something that remains with you forever, lost blood with a vengeance is a dangerous thing to possess.
