Sprawled naked across his deck lounge, plagued by the warlord of hangovers, Mac Dakota surrendered himself to the sun god Ra. Head the size of Mars, temples throbbing to his heart beat, red eyes glued shut, pain assured him he was still alive. The morning sun felt good on his back. Half asleep, half dreaming, he drifted in and out of consciousness.
In spite of yesterday’s storm, Josh’s bachelor party had gone off without a hitch. April snow storms could be gentle or vicious, last an hour or days. By evening the storm had passed, leaving the night sky a jet black canopy sprinkled with crystalline chips of white stars—a perfect night for hard liquor and soft women.
As he drifted and dreamed, Mac began to sense movement on his back. At first it felt like an increase in the warmth from the sun, and then the warmth spread, increasing in weight and mass. In distress he rolled over, and a naked woman slid off his back onto the deck.
“What the hell! Where did you come from?” Mac asked, still half asleep.
When he finally raised his red bleary eyes from the naked body, they met amber-brown eyes in an angel face framed by spikes of golden blonde hair. She had firm full breasts, honey-colored skin, toned muscles, and long legs. She appeared dazed and disoriented. He blinked twice, hoping she’d disappear.
“I’m Crystal Rose,” she said. “Can you tell me where I am?”
“Great! Just great!” Did he bring this woman home? He couldn’t remember. Did they have sex? Must have or why was she here naked on his deck? He groaned, rolled onto his stomach, and went back to sleep.

It had been a very long journey, but they had arrived safely, although not at their New Mexico destination. Crys looked around and decided they were probably in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. Familiar with Earth’s languages, she heard and understood his thoughts, using Poni’s telepathic gift. He couldn’t remember bringing her home or if they’d had sex. She sensed his physical distress and decided to relieve his pain before sleeping. Kneeling beside him, she placed one hand lightly at the base of his spine and the other on top of his head until she felt a vibrating energy. With eyes closed and mind quiet, she made her analgesic connection, moving positive energy into areas of pain, drawing off the negative energy into herself. Upon disconnecting, she shook her hands to release the negative yin back into the universe.
“Okay, ladies, we made it in one piece, and now I need some deep sleep. Take care of my body, and Poni, no funny business.”

Mac awoke to the sound of a phone ringing. He knew he’d never make it and let the machine take the call. He turned over onto his back, stretched, realized he’d slept awhile, and thought it must be about noon.
He felt good, no aches or pains. Actually, he felt great, clearheaded and energized. Then he remembered his dream of the naked woman on his back. He opened his eyes, and there she was, lying face down on the deck beside him. He decided to let her sleep while he checked the machine, called Josh, and showered.
“Hey, Josh, great party. How are you feeling this morning?”
“Yo, Mac, it’s too early to tell. The sick bastard who thought up this rite of passage into matrimony probably sits at the right hand of Lucifer.
What’s with you, Mr. Perky? You were shit-for-brains drunk last I saw you.”
“I don’t know. Woke up with a terrible hangover and cotton balls in my mouth but feel great now. Must have been the nap I took outside in the sun. Say, I need to ask you about the gal I brought home last night. Do you know who I’m talking about?” he asked.
“I don’t know about any gal. You were so drunk we wouldn’t let you drive. Hawk slung you over his shoulder, dumped you in the back of his truck, and took you home.”
“Well, somehow I got me a gal here. She’s asleep naked on my deck. Maybe I got up in the middle of the night and picked her up at a bar. No, all the bars would have been closed. Maybe she followed Hawk. Well, whatever, she’s here, and now I’m going to take a shower. Catch ya later bro,” he said and disconnected.

Mac thoroughly enjoyed the sensation of hot water streaming over his head and face, water straight from heaven. He had designed and built this unique, energy-efficient home, and one of its special features was its water collection system. He loved every odd angle and un-square aspect—“organic geometry,” he called it. To him the house was a living, breathing entity. He shaved in the shower, pulled a comb through his hair, and wrapped a towel around his hips.
When he went back outside, she was still asleep on the deck. What should I do? he wondered, try to wake her, let her sleep a little longer, put her on the lounge and cover her with a blanket, put her in my bed and cover her with me? Aha, the possibilities are growing and becoming more interesting.

Poni was on watch and listening to the man’s prurient thoughts, just as though he were speaking out loud. Earth’s environment must have enhanced her telepathic talents. She’d have to adapt, closing off unwanted voices. For now, she didn’t think Crys’s body was in any danger and would continue to listen.
