About the Book
Wanting to be like her teenaged idols on TV, Polly, still in middle school, embarks on a path that takes her and her potbellied pet pig to a place that isn’t as much fun as she had anticipated. Her faithful little pet tries to go along with Polly’s new ideas but finds it hard to fit into her lifestyle. As the two of them struggle to be more and more sophisticated, they find they are having less and less fun. Eventually, they reach a conclusion that works for them. Such a conclusion may well work for many young girls who can’t wait to be a grown-up, but in the process, they miss out on some of the perks of being a kid.
