About the Book

Marilyn Sandberg Grenat finds solace in expressing her feelings in the form of poetry. In her first collection of poems and other writings, Grenat leads others on a poignant journey through her heart as she experienced losses, struggles, joys, and love. Grenat begins by sharing a poem penned forty-eight years ago about her mother and continues through her Swedish family tree as she reflects on her relationships and gratitude for being born into a Christian family who taught her important values and gave her all the love she ever wanted. As Grenat moves through her life, she shares essays and poems about meeting her husband and falling in love, the grief that surrounded losing him to Alzheimer’s, the joys of loving her children and grandchildren, and miscellaneous thoughts that focus on the importance of faith, family, and unconditionally caring for others who need us. Inspirations from the Heart shares one woman’s poetic reflections that will inspire others to embrace their uniqueness, as well as the joys and hope that come with every new day.

About the Author

Marilyn Sandberg Grenat is a widow, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loves all her family. She lost her only son to cancer in 2016. Grenat currently resides in Lafayette, Indiana, where she cares for infirmed patients in their homes. Inspirations from the Heart is her first book of poetry.
