About the Author
Dennis Perry worked in Chicago for twenty years as a substitute teacher, library assistant and as an ALA certified adult reference librarian. The Copper Thieves began as an idea in 1976 and was finished when Dennis retired from Chicago Public Library in 2004. It is loosely based on the author’s earlier experiences working as a Community Action Agent in Burley, Idaho; and also working with his brother Everett Perry, a journeyman Lineman and heavy equipment operator, when they worked together building a transmission power line near Farewell Bend, Oregon.
