I am flawed, I am human, I am sad, I am learning, I am me, And I will never apologize for that. Sara Pogue is a young woman who does not apologize for who she is. In a debut volume of short verse, she reflects on mental health, abuse, addiction, love, and life itself. Within poems that highlight both the difficulties and beauty in her journey, Sara explores the thoughts that come out to play while the madness silently slips out, the sweet symphony of the demons inside her head, the lies that keep petals from blooming again, an angel and a rock that never gives up hope, the love in hearts that shake earth to its core, and anxiety that randomly pops up like a jack-in-the-box.
