The Bush White House overcommitted U.S. military and fiscal resources and underfunded homeland security by selecting the wrong targets in the "war on terrorism" and launching preventive, unilateral wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Anticipating findings by the 9/11 Commission and several independent commissions and Congressional investigations, Regime Change suggests that 9/11 was preventable and exposes similar failures of the U.S. Intelligence Community in Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran, North Korea and Pakistan's international nuclear black market.

About the Author

Arnold Schuchter has been an international city planning and regional development consultant, strategic planner for multinational consulting companies, and a legislative staff member in the U.S. House of Representatives. He has taught development planning in graduate schools at the University of British Columbia, Boston University, where he also directed a research institute on national social policy, and George Washington University. A principal planner for Boston?s urban renewal program and one of the architects of the War of Poverty legislation, Schuchter has written several books on urban and racial issues. A Chinese Mandarin linguist, he served as chief intelligence analyst for the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Pacific Forces, Hawaii. Schuchter graduated from Harvard College (Magna Cum Laude). He lives in Newport Beach, Ca.
