About the Book
It’s December of 1959, and Leslie and her roommate, Alice, are suspended from their college sorority, Alpha Beta Eta, for ruining the sorority’s prestigious annual party. This, however, doesn’t dampen Leslie’s quest for fun and romance. As she makes the final break from her family and sorority, Leslie finds comfort in her friends—from her old-fashioned schoolmarm Brenda; to Brian, the left-handed relief pitcher; to her old patron, Mr. Booster.
In this sequel to My Life as a Girl, Book One and Two, Leslie gets tangled up with a college softball team in the showers and earns her keep from a mysterious woman who rescues her from a nasty fight upstate. She repays a debt at Booster's Haven in Holmby Hills by making an exotic movie, but Sister Bernadette from the high school convent still haunts her dreams.
Leslie misses Gordo and reignites her romance with Jim, but there is a final softball game to play, and it lands her in the hospital where she narrowly avoids marriage and learns something new about her mother, nurses, the cops, and herself.
