Shadows of the Burning Sun Just stand there and watch As I walk away into the shadows of the burning sun You wonder if I will ever return I don’t know when or if I will be back But as you said goodbye I looked back for a brief second Only to see you shed a tear and cry Because you don’t know That my love for you will last eternally Although I may not And that it will never fade away Like the shadows of the burning sun So farewell, be strong For it may be a long time Before I can ever be next to you again But the pictures I hold of you in my mind Will never fade away like the shadows of the burning sun

About the Book
Lost and Found is the follow up to my first book of poetry Poems from my Purple Notebook. My first book I wrote while I was in high school, this book picks up where the last one left off, college. I titled this book Lost and Found because I would write on many random pieces of paper and notebook pages. After a while I lost track of some and forgot about them and where I put them. Then while in the process of moving I found the book that I tucked them away in. What I thought I had lost was now found.
About the Author
Justin R. McManus has been writing poetry since he was in high school. Lost and Found is his second book of poetry. He has also published the “You Can Quote Me On That” book series and the short story Our Emails.
