There are several different definitions of singleness nowadays. Unfortunately, it’s no longer just a matter of married or unmarried. There is also singleness as in unmarried: ready to date, unmarried: not interested in dating as well as: • Seeking Long term • Looking to Dating • Looking for Friends • I want to get Married • Living Together • Divorced • Widowed • Separated • Looking for casual dating no commitment • Want to date but nothing serious • I want a relationship • Serious and looking This is why it is important to make sure you explicitly ask the questions that you want to know, “Are you single?” don’t cut it no more, and you can’t assume that they are single because they are on a single’s dating site or at a single’s event or function, many married people attend these events as well. There is another aspect of singleness that I want to explore and that is the singleness of mind, body, soul and spirit. When we are involved in relationships in any capacity, we give of ourselves to others and have a tendency to neglect ourselves. During our time of singleness, it is important that we collect ourselves and our member back from the people who were unworthy of receiving them. The people who took advantage of us and never deposited back into us anything near the amount of withdrawals that they made. This is the time to recover all. We cannot expect them to deposit or return to us all that we invested, so it is up to us to reclaim ourselves and ask God to redeem the hands of time. It is a time for us to pour back into ourselves the energy that we have poured into others over time. When we really look at it, singleness is not just a status but a state of mind and a way of life, a lifestyle if you would. Only when we become single, can God really breathe upon our efforts of finding a mate. Gathering our member is metaphorical for regaining control of our lives and our being, purifying ourselves of the issues that have plagued us in days gone by. Then and only then can we experience the satisfaction that we are about to learn about.

Dr. Jennifer Gilbert is a mother of two adult children and a grandmother to one beautiful grandson. She has written books for every walk of life to include Christianity and Education. This is her first single’s self-help book, but demand says this won’t be her last. Through her “Teach Me How to Live Realistically Single” Think Tank Group a number of married and single people have flocked to her weekly live Facebook chats to get her divine revelation of the lifestyle we call “singleness”. After two failed marriages, and a season of sexual preference confusion, Dr. Gilbert gathered the members of her being, rededicated her life to Christ holistically, and began a life of celibacy in await for her mate.
