We are all experiencing “CONNECTIONS” which enriches our lives!! We are blessed by our families, careers, relationships and challenges. Our connections expand our horizons personally and professionally. As a multi-disciplinary Professor and Ordained Minister, I continue to learn the exciting “connections” with a wide range of people including friends, family, students, global colleagues and new experiences. While engaging in relationships, many facets of growth emerge. Global relationships occur when we travel, watch television, and pursue our professional opportunities. This book helps to expand the benefits by being open to engage in wide varieties of people and places. CONNECTING hopefully invites you as readers to enlarge your awareness of opportunities to open new doors. Both young and maturing persons will discover avenues of growth, service and relationships. Yes, this book will help you to stretch your mind, body and spiritual life. This author invites readers to share their impressions for others to engage in making connections in their communities, families, careers potentials and challenges. By CONNECTING, we expand our lives of both ourselves and others.
About the Author
Creativity is a key value that guides my relationships with people, students and global audiences. After valuable experiences in early life when I grew up on an Iowa farm with my supportive family, I served in the U.S. Air Force as a Captain. I had a brief management career with Bell Telephone before I was “called” to be a Presbyterian Minister. While serving in Churches, my denomination funded my studies to become a Psychologist. I was invited to engage in teaching and counseling at Austin College in Texas. Before she died, my first wife was an enthusiastic teacher and mother of our two children. After her death, I fortunately met Carol Ann who has been a Vice-President of two non-profit regional Credit Union organization. She has also traveled with me to Switzerland, India, Nepal and Viet Nam where she also “connects” with many people. In mid-career, invitations came to teach at Universities in India, China, Poland and Slovenia. I taught at Mahatma Gandhi U. Mangalore U., St. Paul College plus Manipal U. to fill their UNESCO Peace Chair. After writing for professional journals, I was invited to lecture at five Medical Schools, six Seminaries, University of Texas at Dallas, plus community colleges. I have authored 11 other books, plus professional journal articles, sermons and lectures. In recent years, my books have been published in the format of poetry. Peace and justice, creativity, policy-making and religion are my specialties. Fortunately, I continue to compose into my ninth decade of living. Carol and I now life in Dallas, Texas.
