About the Book

CONSTRUCTING HORNBECK is a challenging book of many angles. Depending on how it is held to the light, the facets reveal aspects that are mystical, baffling, and at times downright bizarre. Misadventure and visions combine with solid storytelling to throw light on one of the twentieth century's most puzzling and persistent mysteries-the disappearance of Hornbeck. Partially assembled from notes and writings that were left behind in San Francisco when he vanished, this book will make you want to join the legions of people who are seeking to solve the riddle of Hornbeck's disappearance.

About the Author

HORNBECK was diagnosed early in life with multiple personality disorder. He was always one of those persons who showed up uninvited to the party. He studied Psychedelic Anthropology at San Francisco State College. In 1970 Hornbeck disappeared from San Francisco, and there has been no trace of him anywhere since that year.

DAYTON LUMMIS was born in New York City, and is a graduate of Yale University. A former small arms instructor, and retired Chief of Investigations for the Global Security Division of Executive Options of Houston, Texas, and London, England, he now lives in a small farmhouse in rural Pennsylvania.
