About the Book
The stage and film actor Peter Holden (Parkhurst) has called Dayton Lummis “a cosmic town crier.” Indeed, that he is, and more. This latest volume, Ramblin’ Bob, will reveal that. Read it! The California social critic Tom Englezos said of Lummis’s previous collection of acerbic thoughts and often politically incorrect observations: “I thoroughly—and absolutely—enjoyed NOTES. I was informed, and—often—outraged! Great stuff. Damn! I hope you have more coming. A lot more!” Ramblin’ Bob is more. And still more…
About the Author
Dayton Lummis was born in New York City and spent some formative years there. He is a graduate of Yale University, and holds a Master’s Degree in Western American history from San Francisco State University. After a career as a Director of several cultural history museums in the West, he “retired” to a lonely ranch in the East Mojave Desert of California. There he followed the motto of his relative, Charles Fletcher Lummis, the noted 19th century Southwestern American author/historian: “Por aquí yo soy la ley!” (“Here I am the Law!”) Still alive, Dayton Lummis now lives nervously in Santa Fe, NM, and Saint David’s, PA. Having made frequent visits south of the Border, he advises: “Mexico is no place to push your luck…”
