How to Publish a Book

Publishing a book used to be a long, drawn-out process, requiring literary agents or endorsement to even get your book through a publishing house’s door. Even then there was only a small chance of your book being approved for publishing, much less still being recognizable as your book following mandated edits and rewrites.

Now, it is possible to get your book published with five easy steps. All the while still maintaining both your copyright and your creative control over your book.

Set Publishing Goals with Your Publishing Consultant

When you have a manuscript you want to publish, first get in contact with an iUniverse Publishing Consultant. Discuss with them, establish your publishing goals.

Select Your Publishing Package

While iUniverse will advise and recommend one of our publishing packages according to your publishing goals, you have the ultimate decision as which publishing package best suits your needs and that of your book’s.

Purchase Your Publishing Package

After selecting your publishing package according to your taste and needs, you will have to sign the Author Agreement Form. Once that is done, you will be connected to iUniverse’s Payment Central team so that your payment can be processed.

Submit Your Manuscript

Once your goals have been set and your publishing package picked & paid, it is time to submit your manuscript. Prepare your manuscript according to guidelines we will send you, as well as any images, illustrations and any other materials needed for your book.

Galley Proofs- Final Review & Approval

The final step! Use the opportunity to go over your book’s cover, interior, and text. Take note of any mistakes or changes that need to be made, if any. Once that is all done, send iUniverse your final approval and in 3 days or less your book will available for sale on our website.
